Electrical Isolation
Safety Isolation System (SIS)
Designed to meet EN 12767:2007 in its requirement to entirely electrically isolate any illuminated roadside structure in the event of a collision.
This includes HE, LE and NE lighting columns, signposts and traffic signal posts, and any non-passive structure. Each electrically powered system is fitted with a small SIS impact sensor which in turn is connected to an SIS monitor unit. In the event of a vehicular impact, the sensor provides an output to the SIS monitor unit, producing an output to an electrical isolation unit, disconnecting all volts to the impacted structure.
On activation, all SIS monitor units have a range of fault outputs that can be connected to any remote monitoring system (RMS) or Central Management System (CMS).
