Smart Works Donation

In aid of International Women’s Day on 8 March, NAL started a clothes donation supporting the inspiring charity, Smart Works.

Over the past couple of months, our staff have collected a range of women’s interview-style and smart workwear for the charity.

Smart Works aims to provide support to women who are referred from Job Centres, mental health charities, women’s refuges, homeless shelters, the prison service, care services and youth organisations.

“For our clients, securing a job and gaining financial independence changes the trajectory of their lives and, in turn, the lives of their families and communities.”

With the donated clothes, each client receives a bespoke dressing consultation with two trained volunteers. The aim is to find a powerful, high-quality interview outfit that will fill each woman with confidence. Generous donations mean that for these women, this service is free of charge and the clothes are hers to keep forever.

This consultation is then followed by a one-to-one coaching session with an expert interview coach. Each client receives valuable interview preparation, making sure to highlight her potential and enable her to succeed at interviews.

Smart Works proudly states that 72% of clients secure a job in a month.

Since their journey began, Smart Works has helped over 25,000 women in 10 centres across the UK.

Here at NAL, we are proud to be supporting such an inspiring charity and for doing our bit for such an uplifting cause.
