Rapid Charger Foundation

On-street Charging | Coventry

With the growing demand for EV charging points, Coventry City Council are installing rapid charge units throughout the city ensuring electrical vehicles have a convenient place to recharge. The Local Authority chose to install the EV units with a number of NAL products to simplify the installation and maintenance of the units.

The QC45 Rapid Charge EV units have been installed into the NAL Retention Socket system, secured directly to the QC45 Adapter Plate. NB – Adapter Plates are manufactured to suit all leading rapid charge units.

The system offers a universal foundation system for all rapid charge units enabling all civil works to be completed prior to the installation of the EV unit. Cable access through four duct entry points means the cabling process is greatly improved over traditional bolt down methods, while future unit upgrades or replacements can be implemented quickly and cost effectively.

To provide protection from vehicle impact the ‘Impactable’ X-Last Nuvo Bollards have been installed on either side of the QC45 EV Charge units. Lastly, NAL Loop Boxes have been installed to provide easy access to the loop cables, which are used to detect when a vehicle is stationary in the EV parking bay.
