Rotating Mast Arm

Bridgewater

Two Rotating Mast Arms were specified and installed at a busy T junction, situated on the A39 in Bridgewater.

Attributable to a unique mechanism, the Mast Arm can be rotated 180 degrees to ensure any necessary maintenance can be carried out safely, away from the carriageway. In addition to providing enhanced Health and Safety for site operatives, the system guarantees roads remain open, whilst works are undertaken, avoiding disruption to motorists, adherence to strict time constraints road closures can impose and, costly traffic management.

Our client opted to secure systems within RS406 NAL Retention Sockets with a Duckfoot Bend base, which is positively connected to access chambers to simplify cabling. Aiding and improving the installation process and allowing for swift and simple removal of apparatus without additional civils works, sockets were installed prior to the delivery of Mast Arms, to avoid conflicting schedules.

Suitable for applications including traffic signals, signs and CCTV, the Rotating Mast Arm can be installed within a Retention Socket or cradle and is manufactured in 5m, 6m, 7m, 8m and 10m lengths, with twin arm options also available.
