Pre-Cast Foundation

Skanska utilised the NAL Precast Foundation System for the renewal of the street lighting columns on the M40 Junction 1.  

The foundations were designed by NAL to meet Skanska’s specific requirements and incorporated both Duckfoot and Tee Bends for single and double duct entry connections.

The Precast Foundations enabled the work to be completed without the requirement for any wet trades on site. This reduced installation time, therefore minimising the overall disruption to road users. All foundations are manufactured with certified lifting points enabling simple and safe installation. Once installed the lighting columns are either installed immediately or at a later date depending on the project program.
