As the use of electric vehicles becomes more popular, Manchester City Council have installed Electromotive CYC (charge your car) points at the Eithad stadium car park.

As public charging networks are still in the early stages of development, the technology is evolving and with it new charging systems are being released on a regular basis.

The Retention Socket was chosen as it offers future-proofing for this rapidly changing technology. Existing CYC points can be removed and replaced with the latest charger points, eliminating the need to dig into concrete. This allows for little disruption to the public and keeps management costs down, requiring only a small work force to undergo the work.
