Retention Sockets

Worcester City Council recently renewed the railing on City Walls Road, the railing previous was a mixture of styles and was constantly impacted.

Due to the location of the railing in the central reserve of a dual carriageway, repairing the previous railing was an expensive and disruptive task.  

A new decorative railing was chosen based on historical drawings. The NAL RS60 Retention Socket was chosen to house the railing. This provided an easier installation method and allowed a better finish to the surrounding surface.

Crucially the railing can now be replaced within minutes by authorised personnel, without disturbing the finished surface and without the need for expensive and disruptive traffic management. Now the decorative railing will always look aesthetically pleasing.
