To simplify the installation of EV car charging bollards, the City of Westminster Council chose the NAL Retention Socket with Duckfoot Bend.

A common issue with many London installations is dealing with congested foot-ways and negotiating around existing underground services. This system offers flexibility by utilising a 360 degree swivel base allowing cabling from any angle. With this system installed the electrical cabling of the EV bollard is connected and placed into the socket. While in the socket the bollard can be rotated to the desired orientation before being secured by simply tightening the retention bolt with a spanner.

Should the EV bollard need maintenance or become damaged it can be easily removed from the socket. While demounted the pavement is made safe by inserting the pedestrian plug, removing any trip hazard.
